Our Parish Family works to return to the Lord our Three Hours of prayer, service and support each week. As we live in this way we consecrate all that we are, all that we have and all that we do to the worship and glory of God.

Well, these last few weeks here in St. Brigid's have certainly been an expression of the "Body of Christ" whose feast we celebrated yesterday. Although saddened by Fr. Frank's leave, we are tremendously encouraged by the obvious fruits of the twelve years of Fr. Frank's leadership. As we continue to celebrate ordinary time, today and tomorrow Jesus outlines the self-sacrificial love that is the hallmark of his kingdom and that he himself will demonstrate. Such a love is bound to make the Christian who makes it a life's program appear foolish in the eyes of the world. But the end fruits lead to victory. Being like God means loving the lovable and the unlovable, the deserving and the undeserving. To love like that is to renounce revenge and even the desire to keep score. St. Paul reminds us that Jesus kept no score, but made himself poor, that we might be rich! So stay with it!

Tuesday's Saint Romuald, abbot and religious founder, turned to a life of solitude after witnessing a murder in his family. Later, he founded the Camaldolese order, where one may live as a hermit or in community according to the rule of St. Benedict.

On Wednesday, Paul proposes two virtues: generosity and cheerfulness. On Thursday, we remember the great Jesuit, Aloysius Gonzaga (+1591). Coming from a wealthy family, he chose the way of his convictions and served the needs of the victims of a plague. He died of the disease at the age of 23. Let us pray today for all who march to the beat of a different drummer.

On Friday, the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus we are grateful for the inspiration of Margaret Alacoque, a cloistered nun burdened with intense emotional and physical suffering. Margaret has visions of Christ whose love burned unceasingly: "Behold the heart that has loved people so , yet is loved so little in return." The St. Brigid's Filipino Community will lead us in a beautiful celebration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 22 at 8:00 PM. Be sure to join them!

On Saturday, we celebrate the Birth of St. John the Baptist! The great quote of St. John's prophecy, "Christ must increase; I must decrease." (John 3:30) is a reminder to all of us that only Jesus can satisfy the human heart.
