Father Jim is getting better each
day. People continue to send their best wishes and support. Pictured at
the right are the ladies of the Rosary Altar Society at this week's installation
dinner. If YOU would like to send a get well photo to Father Jim, we'll
post it here. Just e-mail the photo here.
All other e-mails of good wishes can be directly
sent to
fatherjim@saintbrigid.net
And don't forget to join us for our blood drive on Monday, May 15 from
4-9pm in Code Auditorium in the school on Maple Ave.

Father Jim is recovering from the
operation. He was even
spotted attending the 7am Mass yesterday. (He didn't
run in the LI Marathon, however.)
People are sending in best wishes. (Pictured at left are
atendees at the annual school fashion show.)
You can
e-mail Father Jim your best wishes. (We brought
his computer to his room in the rectory so he can easily
check the e-mail when he feels up to it.)

Father Jim continues to do well.
He's not taking phone calls right now and visits are restricted to his
family members -- we know that many people want to reach out to him to
give their best wishes, however
he needs some period of uninterrrupted rest and the typical post-operative
medical care. We'll let
you know when he's ready for e-mails. (We have to move his computer first.)
However, he's ALWAYS
ready for prayers.

Father Jim came home this afternoon!
He is happy not to be in the hospital. But he still will need several
weeks to recover.
See? Your prayers worked! So keep them going.
Tuesday,
May 2 2006
Father Jim has finally moved from
the step-down unit to a regular hospital room. He is very happy about
this. He would of course be happier if he was home. He might be coming
home on Thursday.
So we have lots of prayers for him. Those who were
confirmed this week joined in praying for Father Jim (see photo at left).

Father Jim let Father Ralph take
a photo. He looks pretty good for a man who was operated on only a few
days earlier. People keep asking, "Is there anything I can do?"
Well the sign says it all:
If you'd like to give the gift of life by donating blood at St. Brigid's
blood drive on Monday, May 15th,
that will save lives. Father Jim is alive today because of past blood
donors!

Sunday, April 30 2006
Father Jim is a bit more comfortable
today since they took out "the tubes" from him this morning.
They are making him walk a bit more. He's eating oatmeal (not baked
fish).
Slow but steady progress. Keep those prayers coming!
Saturday, April 29 2006
Father Jim has not yet moved to
a regular room. But things are progressing as expected
after a heart operation. He has to do breathing excercises. He is starting
to walk a bit.
All of this is rather uncomfortable. These next few days of recuperation
are usually difficult
ones. Please continue to pray for him.
Friday, April 28 2006
Father Jim hopes to move out of
the step-down unit into a regular hospital room,
He will not be celebrating any of the First Communions tomorrow.
But we'll be praying for him during the First Communions.

Afternoon Update:
Father Jim has moved out of the
recovery area to a "step-down unit"
(a positive move). He looks good for a man who spent five hours on
the operating table (but not good enough to let Father Ralph take his
picture!) He is in good spirits and is grateful for everyone's prayers.
At this time the doctors estimate he will be in the hospital for the next
five
days. Of course there will be recovery time after that.
Morning Report:
Father Jim is in recovery and in stable condition following an over
5-hour triple by-pass operation yesterday. Thank you for your
ongoing prayers.
Wednesday, April 26, 2006
Father Jim had triple bypass surgery on his heart.
The operation began at around 3:30 pm and lasted until 9pm.
He is currently in recovery.
We continue to pray for him.
Tuesday, April 25, 2006
Father Jim went to St. Francis Hospital for cardiac tests today. His
doctor informed him that he would need surgery to correct blockages in
his arteries.
Please pray for him.
