My Dear Sisters and Brothers,

FR. RALPH R. SOMMER

On March 8, 2001, Msgr. John Alesandro, the Diocesan Administrator, appointed Fr. Ralph Sommer as administrator of St. Brigid's Parish as of June 27, 2001.

I am delighted with Fr. Ralph's appointment. He is one of the finest priests of the diocese and has a reputation of being a very hard working and dedicated priest. Many of us have gotten to know him as the Director of RENEW 2000. He is truly a gifted man and looks forward to sharing his gifts with the People of St. Brigid's.

You will also be a gift to Fr. Ralph as he begins this new phase of his ministry. Your faith, love and gifts will be a blessing to him. He will look to you and need you as he begins and lives his first pastorate.

I know he will be a great pastor and I am very relieved to know that he will be a pastor of St. Brigid's. Please keep him and me along with St. Brigid's Parish and St. Cyril's Parish in your prayers during these days of transition. I know that you will extend to home the same warm welcome and love that you have given to me over these twelve years. I am so blessed to be a part of the St. Brigid Family. I will always be grateful to the Lord and to you.
