Here are some of the gifts Father Ralph is bringing to St. Brigid's family as told to us by people who know him...

Father Ralph is a wonderful person who has great ideas and gets everyone involved in the church. He really brings a great understanding to gospels and all the teachings.

Member of St Thomas More Youth Group

Our family is from Our Holy Redeemer Parish in Freeport. This was Fr. Ralph's first assignment after becoming a priest. We were very fortunate to have him here until he was assigned to St. Thomas More. In fact, much of his Freeport family still is in touch with him and enjoy his company at family get togethers, etc. Where do I begin to tell you about Fr. Ralph! Let me start by saying that the parish family of St. Brigid is indeed blessed to have Fr. Ralph join their family. Not only is he a wonderful, spirit-filled person but he is talented in so many areas it is hard to sum them up simply. He is very creative and his love of his vocation affects everyone around him. His enthusiasm is contagious!!! His homily is always thought out and thought provoking. His ability to get people to volunteer their special gifts is truly amazing. His computer skills leave the majority of folks amazed. He was a "computer pro" way before it was the "in thing." He often surprised our parish family with edited videos in which we sometimes starred. Fr. Ralph is someone who we will never forget and thank God for allowing us to share in his gifts. God Bless your parish family at St. Brigid's as you go through this transition and be prepared for the wonderful gift that you will receive in Fr. Ralph.

Father Ralph is really a kind person, and he always seems very wise to me. If you need someone to talk to, definitely consider going to him. Father Ralph is very talented when it comes to technology, too. He makes great videos for the church all the time. Also, he's very organized. When I helped decorate St. Thomas More for Christmas, he directed the entire thing! Thanks Father Ralph!

He gives a his whole heart to the job and is always there with a smile and willing to listen to new ideas.

Father Ralph is a very nice person and funny too! It's rare to see Father Ralph without his video camera. He loves to film. He also edits the movies, and the outcome is usually very humorous. Father Ralph ran the "Community Nights" for the Saint Thomas More parish confirmation program. This is a night for 8th graders to reflect on things and play games, watch movies with hidden meanings that you were to seek out. Overall Father Ralph is a great person and you are lucky to have him joining your Parish!

His gifts are many, wit, computer wiz, artistic, creative and innovative. He uses all these talents - along with a deep spirituality to enrich all around him. He has an abundance of joy and exhilaration that is infectious. I have known Fr. Ralph since he spent his pastoral year at our parish while he was a seminarian. It was obvious then, that he would be an extraordinary Priest and we were always jealous of the parishes that he served. While I am envious of the great experience you have ahead of you, I am also joyful that you will have a wonderful Pastor! He has the exuberance of a child and the wisdom usually reserved for the very old.

---- Linda Quenzer
Fr. Ralph spent his pastoral year at St. Martin's, Amityville and we've kept in touch since.

I feel Father Ralph was very charismatic and vibrant with his parishioners. He was the first priest that I ever knew that came into our neighbor's home for prayer and discussion. This helped us strengthen our own faith. He will be a great asset to your community.

Our Holy Redeemer Parishioner

Father Ralph is truly interested in the community. He comes to the local ballgames. He goes to the High School Concerts to support us. He says it's because he likes the music but we know its to "recruit" musicians for church. Then he writes music parts for our instruments and gives us special parts at mass.

---- St Thomas More High School Student

Father Ralph loves all as Jesus loves. He appreciates his talents and willingly gives his hand.

---- St.Thomas More "Senior"

The gifts and talents Father Ralph shares in his ministry are love and enthusiasm that cannot help but be contagious. Whether teaching in the form of a game for children, or finding an arena in which adults can feel comfortable sharing and learning, Father Ralph has an incredible talent for sharing the Word of God on many levels.

A St. Thomas More parishioner, catechist and friend

ENTHUSIASM! ENTHUSIASM! ENTHUSIASM! Father Ralph has a great talent for touching individual people with his kindness and humor. He makes all masses, services, and functions more enjoyable through his touch of creativity. The Parish of St. Brigid is indeed blessed to be gaining such a wonderful man as their pastor. (Enough so as to make me consider moving to Westbury)
My parents, my husband, myself, my sisters... indeed anyone that has experienced Father Ralph's ministry will forever have fond memories of him and pray for the day when he might once again cross our path as a shepherd and a friend.

Fr. Ralph is probably the most enthusiastic and creative person I have ever met.

Some of the gifts and talents that Father Ralph shared with his old parish was making people want to love GOD the way he loved GOD. He uses his sense of humor to relate each individual situation to references in the Bible. You are incredibly lucky to have him at your parish.

---- Ashley Serrago
Teen at St. Thomas More

A wonderful sense of humor that allows us to see him as a human being, not just a priest, and a wonderful ability to share his joy in his faith.

---- Ellen Millar
A parishioner of St. Thomas More and a RENEW 2000 facilitator

Father Ralph shares happiness, joy, and love to all his parishioners. You will soon see him with his video camera, just smile and wave because he puts together wonderful films of the parish family. He is also wonderful with the love of gardening, and he welcomes all help.

---- Maria Culliton
Parishioner of St. Thomas More

The living example of God's love here on earth. His warmth, concern for people (real), his sense of humor, and his teachable and correctable attitudes. Much more!!!

---- Mary Carilli
St. Thomas More Parishioner

Father Ralph is a warm people-person. When you watch him during mass, you feel that he has a direct link with God that is truly wonderful. He has a great sense of humor and his singing voice isn't bad either. He sang "Be Not Afraid" to a group of graduating seniors and there was not many people in church that didn't have to wipe a tear or two away. Father Ralph will be deeply missed. Consider yourselves lucky!

-- St. Thomas More Parishioner

Father Ralph comes to you with the wonderful gift of unending faith. He has the ability to prepare a homily that brings the gospel to every person at Mass. His enthusiasm, love, and caring are nonstop!

-- St Thomas More Parishioner

It's hard to describe Father Ralph in a few words... He makes religion come alive, and your faith can't help but grow. He is enthusiastic, has a great sense of humor, and is full of energy. His homilies are fantastic. His love of God and his love for the people in the community comes across in everything he says and does. He manages to get everyone involved in something, and enjoying every minute! He truly takes an interest in each and every person he meets. He is especially good with children and teenagers.

I grew up in Freeport, and was a parishioner of Our Holy Redeemer. I met Father Ralph when I was in High School through various organizations including our youth group, Antioch, teaching religious ed, the annual St. Rocco feast and working in the rectory. I cannot describe how happy I was when I got married. To top it off my husband and I bought a home in Hauppauge, where we immediately became members of St. Thomas More. When I first met him his enthusiasm about everything amazed me. He was so full of life and took great joy in everything he did. That joy seemed to pour over into everyone that surrounded him. It has always been apparent that Fr. Ralph is truly filled with the Spirit. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a parishioner in two parishes that have been blessed by the presence of Fr. Ralph. My parents, brother, sisters, husband and children would certainly agree. Thank you to Fr. Ralph from the bottom of my heart. He will be missed. You will feel his wonderful presence immediately. Enjoy him. God Bless you all.

Father Ralph introduced young adults to each other and helped guide the formation of a Young Adult group at St. Thomas More. Although the Young Adult group at St. Brigid's is well organized, at St Thomas More we were starting from scratch. He helped organize young adult events like the barbeque at Hoyt Farm, Christmas potluck supper, faith sharing, etc.

Father Ralph will make a great impression on the people of St. Brigid, just as he did at Our Holy Redeemer in Freeport where he served as Parochial Vicar after his ordination. (My former parish). The people of God at St.Brigid are very fortunate to have him as their new Pastor.
