The gift of joy. The gifts of compassion and understanding. The gifts of acceptance and encouragement. Fr. Frank is a good shepherd and a beautiful person.

---- Mary Jane Witte Music Minister

It was very difficult to say goodbye to Fr. Fred Schaefer in June of 1989, as he had so profoundly effected our lives and propelled us into the "church in the modern world." But the very first week Fr. Frank preached here at St. Brigid's on the June weekend I slipped into the back of the church at the 1:00 Mass to listen to him preach and I was convinced that we were going to be "ok." Frank quoted Jean Valjean from Les Miserables: "To love another person is to see the face of God." Upon hearing those words, I knew our prayers were answered; I knew that God was telling us to continue doing our work and our ministry here in St. Brigid's; I knew that this parish, this oasis of hospitality, faith, compassion and love would go on. So, Frank, on your very first Sunday in Ss. Cyril and Methodious . . . tell the people that to love another person is to see the face of God for you have shown us the face of Jesus.

We noticed right from the beginning that Father Frank is a schemer and a planner. The mind is always going. One parishioner refers to him as "Father Brainstorm." If there is a problem, he will fix it. His favorite slogan is "more is better." To all the good people of Ss. Cyril & Methodius, prepare to be busy!

---- Parishioner since 1968

I am sorry that Father Frank has to leave our parish. But this is selfish on our part. It is good for him to deliver his wonderful messages to many other people.

To put it as succinctly as possible: A loving heart and a caring soul.

He brings his wonderful stories that one can never forget... the "strawberrys" at first communion; his message to couples on their wedding day to give one-hundred percent, not fifty; his healing words to grieving families that will give them hope after losing a loved one. Of course they will go from " "HOLY HOUR TO HAPPY HOUR" and love every minute of it. He is truly a "gift".

Father Frank will bring to Ss.Cyril & Methodius all the God given gifts he shared with St. Brigids. His tremendous love of God, his ability to put a person at ease almost immediately after meeting them. The people of Ss. Cyril & Methodius will no doubt hear some of the homilies that we have been privy to (and the jokes that go with some of them!). They will be receiving the gift of a man who continues going when others would stop. Oh, and they are being gifted with someone who has one of the most distinctive laughs around!

-- Kris Marasca
Longtime parishioner, Part time receptionist at the Parish Center

Fr. Frank will bring to his new flock the gift of open arms, and the ability to point out the light in people so that they can nurture it and make it shine. Before Fr. Frank begins a homily, he makes the sign of the cross. When that happens, WATCH OUT, because when that happens, it is no longer Fr. Frank speaking, but the Spirit speaking through him.
