More "Hands-on" advocacy for social justice, a place for "fellowship" and perhaps a soup kitchen

---- Estelle Peck staff member since 1985, married with three children, parishioner since 1976

I would like to see more multi-cultural events so that those who are nervous around people of a different race or nationality will possibly see that they are no different from us.

--St.Brigid Parishioner

A greater openness & welcoming to Jewish people like me that want to begin an RCIA program late(after the program started),rather than hoping they will wait till the program re-starts the following year. Plus a support group open to non-members,so as to provide more small group mutual encouragement to those in RCIA & to those contemplating RCIA. Plus a post RCIA Group. Plus the start of a small group of catechists & RCIA neophytes that would provide free emotional support to those in the local communities looking to join an RCIA group,& to those who joined an RCIA group within the past 2 years.

---- Marsha Lampert
Visitor to St.Brigid's

1)it will continue to touch the lives of people all over Long Island
2) the diocese would use it as a "new seminary" to truly train young men/women to be ministers of God's people.
3)that no ones builds a bigger church. sometimes bigger is not always better and the spirit can be lost.
4)that those parishioners who have left because they did not understand or approve of the mission will return to the body of Christ at St. Brigid.

-- Nat and Marie Watson
A Marriage Encounter Couple from Roosevelt, NY

We would like to see more help for the poor of the parish. We need a soup kitchen, aid for the unemployed, counseling for illegal immigrants and assistance for the elderly. What is needed is more information circulated concerning the help needed at Parish Outreach, food and money donations, and just general assistance with the needy.

---- Parishioner since 1968

As a parishoner of seven years, I look forward to many more years of the vibrant life and sharing at St. Brigid's.

---- Marline

That we continue to grow in God's love and transform the world.

---- Frank Pesce Husband, Father, Deacon

That we never lose sight of what we have and that we continue to grow in the future.

-- Susan Porteus

I hope that we continue to be a parish that has room for all of us, that faith remains an exciting journey and not an absolute road to be rigidly followed.
That the things we share as a community, the fun we have with our diversity continues to be a light for other parishes.

--Someone who returned to the Faith after more than 50 years

I hope that the many programs and initiatives that we are implementing will continue. I hope for a youth minister for our Spanish-speaking young people. A person to work under the direction of Jennifer. I hope for speakers, lecturers, course on multicultural issues to bring about better understanding and appreciation of the richness and beauty of each culture represented in the parish.

---- Manuel J. Ramos
Miembro Fundador de la Comunidad Hispana

I hope that we, as a Parish, continue to grow in our love for Jesus and for each other.

---- Katherine Murphy
Parent of young children who attend St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope School

I would like to see St. Brigid parish join together with other local parishes and share ourselves more with others. I think that we could learn more by opening up our communication lines with other parishes more.

-- Laura Naughton

That we truly see a brother / sister in faith in each other, and that we really care about the one's suffering regardless of color, culture, or background.

That it remains such a close knit parish as it has been in the past.

The seeds that have been planted will continue to grow. The fruit will continue to be shared and multiplied. The new seeds will find fertile soil and be accepted with care.

-- Tom & Jeanette Van De Water
Parents of four grown children, grandparents of four wonderful girls

I'd like to see more multi-cultural events - not just masses, but events where all the culturals come together to worship, socialize and learn about each other. Maybe if we all learn about our neighbor, we won't be so fearful or negative of those who are different from us.

-- Kris Marasca
Longtime parishioner, Part time receptionist at the Parish Center

My hope for St. Brigid is not necessarily that it remain the same, but that it continue to respond more and more to the needs, both material and spiritual, of its people.

I hope that St. Brigid's will continue to be the warm, loving and welcoming community it is. I hope the smiles on the faces of the people who come to worship and celebrate liturgies will always remain. I hope the music at the liturgies remains as beautiful as it is now. I hope we can continue to grow under the pastorship of Fr. Ralph.

-- Diane Gentile

That we continue to grow in love for the Lord and one another, that we are able to serve others as Jesus serves us...

-- Mary Pat Keegan

With sadness we bid Godspeed to Father Frank. I hope that we also can gift the angel in the choir loft, of which Fr. Frank is so fond, to the parishioners of Sts. Cyril and Methodius.

On a more serious note, I hope there will be more emphasis on adult education. I also hope the McBrien series and Androgogy become weekly features in the bulletin.
