Did you notice how your child smiled as he or she finished first reconciliation?

Sure, some of that was "relief" -- "I got through it ok!" But most of it was the freedom and joy of knowing the forgiveness of God. Jesus is just as present in this sacrament as he is in the Eucharist and your child encountered the healing love of Jesus.

How about you? While we always invite parents and other family members to celebrate this sacrament, given the numbers of people present, only a few parents take us up on the offer right then. Yet inside, they want that special blessing of freedom, healing and forgiveness.

So what about coming over in the days ahead to get what your child got?

At St. Brigid's we regularly celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation Monday through Friday after the 12:10 mass and on Saturday afternoons from 4-4:45pm. Or call or e-mail one of the priests to set up a time that's good for you.

Sometimes parents feel embarrassed because it has been a while since they last celebrated this sacrament. Don't let this stop you from receiving God's love in this special way. Any of our priests will help you through it. Before you know it, you will be smiling the way your child was!
