Spreading the Faith

Joan x 2
Next Sunday, June 2nd at the 1pm Mass, we’re celebrating our Outeach coordinators -- both Joan Psotto who is completing her time as Director and Joan Echausse, who is returning to this ministry after ten years. All are invited. A reception on St. Brigid’s Green will follow the mass.

Columns from 2001

Ever since Jennifer Gallagher and Stephanie Clagnaz, our Directors of Religious Education, had indicated that they were changing ministries to full time work in Catholic School Education, we’ve been searching for people to make up a new team to lead our Religious Education Program. At this time I’m happy to
Meg Westfall, Sr. Ann Horn, Kelly Kraemer
announce that we have found two full time directors, one part time director and we are still looking for a Spanish-speaking director to complete the leadership team.

Sr. Ann Horn, O.P. comes to us with many years of experience as a director of religious education and pastoral associate and has done wonderful work throughout the diocese in Pastoral Formation, Evangelization, and the Catechumenate (RCIA). I have known Sr. Ann for over 15 years and had the pleasure of working with her on a number of projects throughout Long Island. I have always been impressed by the ways she deals with families, her insights into spiritual growth, and how much she loves God and the church community.

Kelly joined our parish several years ago and has been involved in coordinating a number of events (you may have met her at the Mardi Gras). Prior to the birth of her son, she taught children with special needs and has worked with families of autistic children and has taught religious education in her former parish. Kelly’s enthusiasm for bringing the message of Jesus to others is “catching” -- she will bring her life and energy to our program and through her example, will draw others to give their time, talent and love to our children.
Meg has been involved in preparing young people for Confirmation for many years and will be joining us to work with those in 7th and 8th grade. She has already stopped by over the past several months to be at the different programs that have been offered for our confirmation candidates and she brings her wonderful understanding of young teens to our program.

As we ask God’s blessings on Jennifer and Stephanie’s new ministry, we ask God to bless Sr. Ann, Kelly and Meg as they join us.
