Rally for Immigrants
Two busloads of parishioners from St. Brigid's joined tens of thousands of people on the Feast of St. Francis at a rally in Queens that offered support for recent immigrants.

Most of us are here in this country because our ancestors immigrated here and our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents knew all manner of prejudice and injustice against them.

We want to live in a society that treats new immigrants in better and fairer ways than our ancestors were treated.

Father Ralph led a blessing for those who attended the rally at Casa Mary Johanna, St. Brigid's ministry to immigrants. Father George accompanied the group along with Yanira Chacon-Lopez, the coordinator of Casa Mary Johanna.
