Father Cine Returns to Haiti
Father Chacha Joins St. Brigid's

For seven years Father Syriaque Cine, a Montfort Father, has served as Associate Pastor of St. Brigid's. At the end of June 2007, he returned to Haiti to become superintendent of Montfort schools. Our parish celebrated his ministry and welcomed Father Ronel Charelus, another Montfort Father. Our new priest prefers to be known affectionately as Father Chacha (pronounced "Shasha").

A few things to know about Father Chacha...

•He is the second of ten children.

• He is a Montfort Father

• He was Father Cine's pastor in Haiti for 4years -- he was pastor there for 8 years and more recently pastor of St. Louis in Haiti for the past years

• He likes to work with trhe elderly and visit sick people

• He has been active in the Legion of Mary for many years

• He is studying for his masters degree in Theology at Fordham University

• He also wants to learn from our parish by listening to parishioners and is open to feedback and guidance from everyone here.
