Thanks and Blessings
In the early fall of 2010, there were a number of parishioners who we thanked and blessed for their service to our parish family.
Stephanie and Paul Clagnaz receive the Diocesan St. Agnes Service Medal

Paul and Stephanie Clagnaz have been long-time parishioners of St. Brigid’s – Paul was raised in the parish. They’ve been married for 31 years. Stephanie has been involved in music ministry at St. Brigid’s for 30 years and in the past has also served as Director of Religious Education at St. Brigid’s and as Assistant Principal of St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Regional School.
Paul has been principal of St Brigid/Our Lady of Hope school for 13 years, having taught at the school for five years prior to his becoming principal. Paul and Stephanie have devoted their lives to the service of the church and especially its youth. Their ongoing dedication is a model for many and they have led many children and their families to come to know Jesus more, and to join them in active engagement in church life.
They received the 2010 Saint Agnes Service Medal from Bishop Murphy at St. Agnes Cathedral on September 17th.

Adella Conlin -- Wedding Rehearsal Coordinator
Adella Conlin has led almost every wedding rehearsal at St. Brigid's over the last decades -- we figured that she encountered over 20,000 people who came to rehearsals over those years.
We had a special thanksgiving mass for Adella (seated in photo) as she passed on her ministry to her successors:
Maureen Hutcheon (left), Kevin and Michele McCaffrey, and Gina Galgano (not pictured).
Special Note: Adella did Kevin & Michele's rehearsal when they got married!

Norma Beyer-- Senior Connection

Frail and elderly seniors in our parish are often isolated at home with little chance for social interaction.
Senior Connection is a weekly program which takes place at St. Anthony's Hall, across the street from St. Brigid's Church, where seniors can come for socialization, prayer, activities and lunch. This effort has been led by Norma Beyer who is handing over the coordination of this effort to Kathy Battistini and Barbara Fleming. We thanked her at a special Mass of thanksgiving.
Marion & Lou Marchesi -- Coordinators of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Marion and Lou have been training Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for over a decade at St. Brigid's. They're handing over this ministry to Anna Moruzzi (pictured standing beween Marion and Lou). So many have received the presence of Christ because of the faithful efforts of Marion and Lou.
Diane & Dick McIver -- Pre-Cana Coordinators
Remember Kevin & Michelle? (see photo with Adella above).
They did Pre-Cana at St. Brigid's through the ministry of Dick and Diane McIver, pictured here. The McIvers have been coordinating Pre-Cana for as long as most people can remember and they are now passing their passion for couples getting married on to Mary and Peter Kahl. We thanked them at a special Mass of Thanksgiving.
Adriana Miller -- Executive Secretary
For nearly 36 years, Adriana Miller has worked at St. Brigid's -- she's the one we all go to (including the pastor) to see if the church or auditorium or meeting room is available. She coordinated the calendar and all scheduling of baptisms, weddings, rehearsals, meetings, etc.
Adriana (and 14 others) were offered the voluntary separation program from the Diocese and she accepted the offer on the condition that she could continue to work as a volunteer. So we took a moment to honor her years of service and we've installed a plaque at the Parish Center to celebrate this milestone in her years of service.

Donna Aravena --"Woman at the Well"
St Brigid's Well is located in New Cassel and Donna Aravena has worked with people in need of advocacy, advice, housing, clothing, food, legal help, etc. as part of a team of dedicated staff members under the coordination of Parish Outreach. Recently Donna participated in the voluntary separation program, yet she has decided to continue her work at the Well as a volunteer. We had a special mass to thank Donna for her years of service.
