My Travels in England
I've escape the snow and ice of Long Island for a week
and I'm exploring the English countryside.(Lots of England is countryside.)
Though I haven't called you while I'm here, I'm glad I can send you these photos.
And the spring flowers are bursting forth -- these bloomed red for Valentine's Day.
It's the end of winter...

The lovely church in the town I'm staying in:
St.Philip & St. James in Norton St.Philip.

High Street in Norton St.Philip
Wells Cathedral is in, well, Wells.
The interior of Wells Cathedral.
Check out the Wells Cathedral website.
Looking up as we enter the Cathedral.
I'm standing at the tomb of Ralph of Shrewsbury who was a bishop who did a lot of building in Wells -- before he died.
The "Vicar's Close" proported to be the oldest completed European street
Glastonbury Abbey...they've not been keeping it up since the time of Henry VIII. Needs more than a touch of paint.

Time for a bit o' lunch at a local eatery.

Jolly good.

Check out the
Glastonbury Abbey Website.
My hosts Peggy & Simon. We had some lovely dinners.
