Here are some photos of the land.

The countryside is beautiful...but terribly polluted. The air, land and water are very contaminated. New laws are going into effect, but will take many years to implement. The United States sells used cars and trucks that no longer pass our pollution standards to the Salvadorans. We make money, at the cost of the health of people and the health of the land. (Apparently we also sell them expired film and instant cameras, as we noticed when we tried to buy some.) But I digress...back to the photos.

This is the capital city, San Salvador. Notice the volcano shaped mountain in the distance.

People use every inch of land for food. These steep hills are covered in corn. It's hard to figure out how people harvest it without sliding down the hill.

Many trees were in bloom throughout the countryside.

Tropical flowers grow naturally in gardens. There are palm trees and ficus trees in people's backyards. Here a "bird of paradise" plant can be seen.
