On Wednesday we stayed in the Santa Ana area. A short 22 minute ride took us to the Madre Cecilia Bermejo Elderly home run by the Franciscan sisters. We celebrated mass there and had cake and juice.

Later in the day we went to Maria Auxiliadora School where we were greeted with a brass band, children bearing flowers, and we had dances and sports.

Our new friend Jose (seated) entertained us with humorous palm readings.
Many of the elderly in this home were abandoned by their families. Some never have visitors so they really enjoyed our visit.
At first we were nervous about going to this home, but we made friends easily.

At Maria Auxiladora School
Various groups of children performed for us.
The children note the finer points of softball as taught by Jennifer.
John coaches a group of kids as they coach him in the Spanish language.
Our fabulous softball team.
Modesty prevents us from telling you the
score of the game.
Our incredible soccer team. Once again, humility stops us from revealing the outcome. (All we can say at this point is that we did better than last year.)
The children at the school put on a show for us.
