On St. Brigid’s Green (the area between the church and rectory) stands our beautiful gazebo that has provided a place to offer fellowship (including coffee and cake) for over a decade. But the years have taken their toll and moisture and an attack of termites have done some damage.
The termites are now under control but there are places where the gazebo needs some follow-up care. We need to replace the countertop, plane the cabinet doors so they don’t stick, provide some fresh paint, etc.
The master builder responsible for the gazebo’s construction is Al Posillico. For many years Al has constructed many projects at St. Brigid’s. He had intended to renovate the gazebo this past summer, but due to illness and injury among his carpenter buddies, the work wasn’t able to be done.

So last weekend Al asked if I could find some folks to help him out. I know the people of St. Brigid’s, so I assured him this would be no problem. So here’s the invitation: if you’re handy with tools and would like to join in an episode of “This Old Gazebo”, let me know and I’ll pass you on to Al to set a time for the renovation project. You can e-mail me at shepherd@saintbrigid.net . If you’re not handy with tools but know someone who is, why not encourage them to help us out?

Of course we also want to use the gazebo for fellowship after the 10am Family Mass this fall. If you’d like to help out with set up or serving, please call Barbara at 796-7528.
