Convent Countdown
Still waiting for a new tenant...tick...tick...tick...
We’ve lost $18,000 a month in rental income since the Police Department moved out of the Convent building (next to our school) in February. Please continue to spread the word about this building-for-rent and let’s pray that one of the recently interested parties will make an offer to rent it.

St Anthony's Hall
I want to thank the St. Anthony Society for the use of St. Anthony’s Hall for our beautiful Lenten retreat during these past weeks. We are still “on track” to receive ownership of the building from the society. However, there has been a delay because the transfer needs to be brought before a NY State Court to approve the transfer. When I ask about the delay, I’m told it’s due to a court backlog. Any day now!

Online Masses
We are now going to be able to stream masses and other events live over the internet to homebound folks and to relatives who live in other lands. If you’re interested in this, in this, click here.

Away at College?
Are you or your child away at college? At St. Brigid’s we like to stay in touch via occasional e-mails as we send photos and news from “home”. College students wishing to be connected through our “Letters from home” can sign up online here
or you can mail or
e-mail thecollege names and e-mail addresses to Father Ralph and he’ll put them on the list.

We enter the holiest week of the year where we unite ourselves with Jesus and find freedom from the things that enslave us. All are welcome to the wonderful celebrations of our faith:

Monday. All day confessions. Starting at 7:30am and continuing til our Penance service at 8pm (except during mass times), priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation all day. Come experience the freedom, healing and forgiveness God offers.

Holy Thursday. We begin the day with Morning Prayer at 9am. (There are no morning or noon masses from Holy Thursday through Holy Saturday.) We celebrate a Children’s Liturgy at 3:30pm and the main celebration of the Lord’s Supper is at 8pm in Code Auditorium, followed by a candelight procession with the Blessed Sacrament to the church. There will be time for prayer
(keeping “watch” with Christ) until midnight.

Good Friday. Again, we begin with morning prayer at 9am.
There are many services throughout the day. The main celebration is the Passion of Lord at 3:15pm (English in church); 3pm (Kreyol in the School Chapel); and 5:45pm (Spanish in Code Auditorium).
We also have a children’s service at 10am, the “Seven Last Words” from 12 noon to 3pm, the 5:30 Living Stations of the Cross (starts at the church, ends at the school) led by our Italian Community; the procession from the school to the church at 7:15 with Jesus Sepultado, and 8pm Youth Stations of the Cross.
Holy Saturday. There is morning prayer at 9am. If you wish to bring food to be blessed for your Easter meal, the blessing will take place at the end of the morning prayer.

The main event is the Easter Vigil at 8pm. (There are no 5pm or 7pm masses that night.) We begin outdoors in the darkness and light the Easter Fire. So begins our three-hour celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus in which we listen to God’s word, baptize and confirm adults, and celebrate the Easter Eucharist.
