Can You Hear Me Again?

Ministry of Altar Servers
For the past two months a group of 17 enthusiastic, energetic and inquisitive girls and boys have been preparing to become altar servers. Next Sunday at the 10am and the 6pm masses, they will be installed as servers and from then on begin serving in this ministry at the altar. I’m very proud of them for all the time they gave in preparing and for listening to God’s call to service. Congratulations to them and their families.

Thank You Some More!
For three weeks now our weekly collection has reached over $21,000 due to the thoughtful generosity of so many of our parishioners. I’ve been writing a personal note of thanks to all those who submitted their Take-A-Step Card but I also wanted to say thank you to those who have anonymously been increasing their donations each week.

Census Continues
Of the approximate 6,000 families we usually send mail to, we’ve received completed Census booklets from over 2,000. So we’ve got a ways to go.
Is your booklet in?

Last week I wrote about the mission we’re going to have during the first week of April (Monday through Thursday, April 3 thru 6th). The title of the Mission is “Can you hear me now?” and it’s a chance to listen to God as we prepare for Holy Week and Easter.

I encouraged you to pray for some inspiration as to who to invite to this mission and now it’s time to do some actual inviting:

(A) Some of you come to church early to get a good seat and to read the bulletin. If you’re doing that now, why not turn to the person near you and ask them if they’ll be going to the mission? If they ask “What mission?”, just show them the info in the bulletin, then tell them you’ll be going and you hope they will too. Note: Please do NOT do this during the homily.
(For those seeing this online, why not e-mail this URL to your friends?)

(B) If you’re reading this after mass, at home, please take a moment and write the names of three people (who live locally) you know could use a blessing from God.

Now, pick up the phone or go to your e-mail and invite them by saying something like... “Did you hear about the Lenten Mission that St. Brigid’s is having next week? We could go to either the daytime session (which follows the 12:10 mass) or the evening session -- 8:00pm in the school. Maybe we could go together!”
Throughout the week, please pray for those of us who are preparing the mission and for all who can use the blessings mission will bring.
