On your mark, get set....

Data Volunteers
In a little over a week, we’ll have thousands of Census forms to enter into our parish data base. If you have good computer and typing skills and can spare some time in the days or evenings in the weeks ahead to help enter the Census information, we’d like to hear from you. Robert Cammarata is coordinating the Census project. Give him a call at 334-0021 ext 136 or e-mail him at robc@saintbrigid.net
and he’ll schedule you for training and entry time one one of the five computers we have set for this purpose. Come join with your fellow parishioner-volunteers ..

Got Lamp?
If you have a standing lamp in working condition that you are no longer using and would like to donate it to St. Brigid’s, we’re happy to accept it to use for different parish events. Just bring it to the Religious Education Office in the school on Maple Ave during office hours. Thanks.

Next weekend we begin our Census. You might be wondering how we’ll do this. In today’s society it’s no longer possible to go door to door to ask if anyone at home is Catholic, so we’ll be doing the Census as people come to us.

Phase One will be at the masses next Sunday. During mass we’ll take a few minutes and ask one person from each family to fill in the Census booklet right there. (If anyone needs assistance in filling in their Census, there will be someone available after mass.) By the end of the weekend, we’ll have recorded over a thousand families. Census booklets will bed available in English, Spanish, Italian and Kreyol. Over the following two weeks, there will be tables at the entrances to the church and school so people who are away next weekend will have a chance to do their census.

Phase Two involves reaching out to those parishioners we already know are in our programs -- school, religious education, outreach, etc. If they didn’t get a chance to do the Census in the first few weeks, we’ll ask them to do it through the program they’re enrolled in. The same goes for folks involved in parish ministries and societies.

Phase Three involves mailing the Census booklet to all those we have not heard from in the first two phases. And the final phase is ongoing --offering people a chance to do the census when they come to us for some event or service -- booking a wedding, getting a mass card, etc.
Once we get started, if you know of any parishioner who hasn’t been included in our Census (perhaps a homebound neighbor), feel free to bring that person a Census booklet and then you can return that booklet to the office. Remember, the reason for our census is to get an accurate “snapshot” of ALL our parish family. Please pray for the success of this project.
