A New Look

"I vant your Blood"
Perhaps you heard this from a few
costumed Draculas this past Halloween, but it’s true- we DO want your blood at St. Brigid’s blood drive next Monday (Nov. 10th) from 4-9 pm in Code Auditorium. It is a wonderful , painless, easy way to literally save the life of an other person.
I give blood as often as I can and it feels good to know that in addition to praying for people, I can do something to help them live! If you’ve never given blood before, why not make Monday the 10th your first time?

Still Listening
Our last Synod Listening Session in English will be in St. Anthony’s Hall next Sunday, Nov. 9th after the 10am Family Mass.
Come share your hopes for the future of our church.

At College?

At St. Brigid’s we like to stay in touch through
e-mail “letters from home.”
Once a person has an e-mail address at school (or if he/she uses a personal address), please let us know what it is so we can include them when we write.
Here's a handy college link so you can send this info online.

Columns from 2002

Columns from 2001

After months of design work and weeks of learning new skills, we’re publishing the first issue of our newly designed bulletin. First I want to publically thank parishioner John Chiaramonte for sharing his time and talent with us by designing the new look and for his help and patience with our staff as he taught us how to use this new design.

Some noteworthy features include:
• Each issue features the date on the front cover
(no more picking up the wrong week’s bulletin!)

• Short descriptions in English of what’s being
written in different languages so that we can
all know and appreciate what’s happening in
the varied parts of our parish community

• The same page order in each issue
(no more hunting for your favorite pages-- each
week the majority of the pages will be in the
same order in the bulletin)

• An easier to follow “What’s Happening” page
See at a glance all that is happening at St. Brigid’s
in the coming week so you can get involved!

• Smaller announcements means more information
in each issue. Instead of using full pages for one
announcement, grouped announcements will
let us use the bulletin for informative articles.
(for example -- see page 11 for an article on
Church teaching and politics this election day...
ONLINE NOTE: You can't see page 11 online but you can go to the online website that has the 2003 Election Statement)

All of the bulletin is now being produced electronically and while we’ll still take in material from parish ministries on paper, it would be easier for our bulletin editor to receive  material as e-mail attachments or on floppy disk. Our bulletin editor? Why it’s Susan Porteus who’s good at the other kind of keyboard as well (the church organ). Our thanks to Susan for taking on the responsibility for bringing you all the news of what’s happening at St. Brigid’s with the help of others on our staff and in our parish.
