At College?

At St. Brigid’s we like to stay in touch through
e-mail “letters from home.”
Once a person has an e-mail address at school (or if he/she uses a personal address), please let us know what it is so we can include them when we write.
Here's a handy college link so you can send this info online.

Columns from 2002

Columns from 2001

Five years ago when St. Brigid’s started raising money for an endowment fund to help pay for building repairs and program development, people were sure the money was going to be needed -- just not sure what it would be spent on.

After several months of inspection and competative bidding, the St. Brigid Buildings and Grounds Committee has come up with a three-year plan which looks at dangerous conditions that need to be fixed, money-saving upgrades, and projects to make the place look nicer. The plan is not “set in stone” since new needs may develop in the next year, but we’re about to spend the first dollars from the Millennium Fund on some projects and I want to thank everyone who was part of the Millennium Fund endeavor for making the following possible:
Year One:

Remove dead trees and dead tree limbs
Replace roof on the Convent on Maple Ave
Replace inefficient boiler/broken hotwater heart in the Convent
Replace broken doors in seven openings at the School
Repair range hood and ceiling in School Kitchen
Repair faulty wiring in Rectory
Fix Sound System in Code Auditorium & Chapel
Replace rotting church signs
Replace rotting back door of Parish Center
Years Two & Three:
Paint interior of Church
Refinish floors and pews in Church
Upgrade electric and provide air conditioning to Outreach Food Pantry
Replace one of the school boilers
Replace wooden facade of Parish Center
Replace roof on old convent building (currently rented to Police Dept)
Boiler upgrade in Parish Center
Refinish floors in Code Auditorium
Repair roadway between church/rectory
Evaluate replacing church boiler
The tree work, roof work on the convent and convent boiler replacement will begin within the next few weeks.
