Our Newest Priest Ordained

Get Valuable Prizes
We’re getting closer to the “sweet spot” in the Bishop’s Annual Appeal where our parish receives back 30% of our goal of $101,000. That means that any donations beyond $70,000 are rebated back to our parish so that if we meet our goal, we receive a much needed $30,000 to pay our bills and support our programs. As an incentive to help us out through the appeal, we’re giving away some valuable premiums on June 22nd. Anyone who has completed their pledge of $100 or more will be able to pick up a St.Brigid coffee mug at the parish center on that day and all those who have completed their pledge will be eligible for the drawing for four Mets Tickets for the game on June 30th as well as a drawing for “St Brigidwear”, our new line of clothing with the St. Brigid logo.
If you have not returned your pledge card, please do so as soon as possible -- you can also pledge online :
It’s not too late to qualify for our prizes!

On Saturday, June 14th three men were ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Murphy at St. Agnes Cathedral. One of the three, Kevin Dillon, has been assigned to St. Brigid’s Parish starting June 25th.

Father Dillon is a native of Brooklyn and Williston Park where he grew up with his three younger siblings -- all of whom are married. His mother still lives in St. Aidan’s parish -- though she is known at times to come to mass here at St. Brigid’s.

Father Dillon attended St. Aidan’s School, St Pius X Preparatory Seminary, and graduated from Queens College with a BS in English and MS.Ed. He taught High School English at St. Dominic’s in Oyster Bay and Suncoast Community High School in Palm Beach County, Florida and taught high School Religion at Bishop Guerton High School, Nashua, New Hampshire. He attended the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington where he received his M.Div degree and where he became good friends with Father Jim.

In his free time Father Dillon enjoys reading and travelling and is fond of Broadway plays and movies. We know he’ll feel right at home here since he is also fond of Italian food and desserts -- though he’s also partial to turkey and an occasional rack of lamb. Father Dillon says that while he’s not an avid sports fan, he does root for the Yankees.

Father Dillon said, “I look forward to ministering and serving the people of St. Brigid’s. I have from time-to-time attended the 12:10 daily mass so I’ve had the opportunity of praying and celebrating the Eucharist with this faith filled community. One of the notable features of St. Brigid’s is the diversity of people whose cultures vary, yet they are united in their beliefs in Christ and his Church. Father Jim is a very good friend of mine and I’ve heard many wonderful things about this parish. One is the spirit of generosity in the people and staff. I joyfully await the day I will be able to lead the community of St. Brigid in the Eucharistic celebration and experience the presence of Jesus Christ in this vibrant and alive parish!”

We congratulate Father Dillon and welcome him with open arms and hearts to our parish family.
